So in total this took about 12 hrs, which is a lot longer than what I did with Roxas. Then again, this is probably technically more difficult than that one and the BG certainly was more difficult, since I mistakenly thought I could do it without planning it out, it took me about 3 hr 30 mins to draw the BG then another hour to do all the shading.

[WIP] Striker Kyte - Base Background
So, I want to finish this background, but right now I am killing my back, so I need to take a break. Really I just need draw in some bleachers and fill them in, so it won't be too hard, in theory. I'm also still unsure what I want to do with my backgrounds, hence why like every piece I've been doing has a different one. I'm liking this one so far, so that's good.
Also the brands back there are Paragon System and Dragon Industries, both of which are important in different stories, in their own way. (The world building opportunities of these kind of backgrounds is one of the things I like about them.)
Oh boy, here's an edit that's not getting me any closer to finishing this drawing. Gosh, I just cannot figure out what I want to do with this damn background. I mean the bleachers with the first version I think were f'ed up due to perspective issues and Kyte being too close to the edge. I haven't tried to draw them yet on this one, but hopefully this'll work.
Also, you'll notice if you flash between these two versions, the color in his hair changes some. Yeah, that was a bit of a glitch where I didn't realize his hair was linked to a layer I was resizing while the hair layer was hidden. So I turned the colors back on and found he had transparent hair and that there was a smaller mass of black hanging out off to the side of his head and I had to recolor it in.
Last update for this one. It took me for-fucking-ever to get a background behind the banners that I liked, but I think I finally did it.

[WIP] Striker Kyte - Clothing Base
Well his base colors are almost done, but I need to first come up with some logos, since real football jerseys are covered in them. I need the club logo, the logo for the clothing brand, and a logo that would be advertised front and center. But I unfortunately, don't have any ideas, so I guess I need to sleep on it. He's also finally chasing after a ball.
And now for a small update with the branding on his uniform. He's part of the City of Llords F.C. though most people know them as The Lords with an extra "l" optional. And their team is sponsored by Chase Automotive, and their kit is provided by Victory Athletics. I think kit is the right word, it kept popping up in my research. I also moved the ball a little closer.
Bonus points to anyone who gets the joke behind the sponsor's name.

[WIP] Striker Kyte - Base Lineart and Colors
Unfortunately, this one took me about 5 hrs to do instead of the 4 hrs Roxas did, but I am happy with how it's turned out. Hopefully, all the other stuff will go faster and I'll end up getting Kyte done faster. He's running after a football by the way (as in a soccer ball), I just haven't drawn that yet. Will probably include that when I do his clothes.
And an update for today with some color. Don't have anything else to add comment wise, though.

Roxas Concept
It took me about 7.5 hrs to do it, but I finished the Roxas concept. I'm sure I could have done it faster if I wasn't doing a bunch of stuff I've never done before. Like the posing, the african wild dog fur patterns, the upside down shirt. I'll keep practicing so that I can speed the process up, since I'm hoping to get into a good position to do commissions.
[WIP] Roxas Concept - Base Colors
Got Roxas colored, and Rem thinks he's cute, which is good because I've never done a wild dog pattern before and boy are they busy. Overall, this took me about an hour to do, but it probably would have gone faster if I wasn't designing the character at the same time, or if he had less complicated patterns.

[WIP] Roxas Concept - Base Lineart
Well it's official, I can do an entire drawing (minus clothing, which is generally easier) in one day. I timed myself on this one, and minus the procrastination it took me 4 hrs. It would have been shorter but there were a few things that caught me up like his butt and especially the hand he's handstanding on; that took me like 45 min. I'm pretty sure hands and feet are the one thing that keeps me from drawing consistently.
Anyway, this is a character design for Remmy of his new character Roxas. He will be an otter / african wild dog hybrid; hence the large satellite ears and less rounded head. He is also a freestyle dancer, in case you were wondering why he was doing a handstand. I might go and make his tail shorter and fluffier now that I think about it, but we'll see.
