Theolis with Magic and Stuff

Well it's done, or at least I feel it is. I'm sure there's about a million different things you could come up with to improve on the drawing, but I like it the way it is.

Although, I also really like this little bonus version, with Theo's shirt off. Still very much finding his body . . , uh we'll say well drawn. Obviously, I didn't feel like shading all of Theolis' body so I removed all the shading from this one.

Also, I pretty much have no idea what to title this. I'm about to just call it Theolis vs A Robot Bug Monster.

[WIP] Theolis - Background Base

Took me awhile to figure out that grass, but I think I finally got it to something I like. I actually had to make my own brush for it (which is something I probably should have been doing for foliage ages ago, considering the difficulty I went through inking foliage in that picture of Robbie with the airship wreck, ugh).

Now I just need to shade; I think I'll keep it simple with some simple cel shading and maybe some color correction. I don't know for certain yet. We'll see how it turns out.

[WIP] Theolis - Foreground Base

So I've gotten this far, now I need to decide on a background. I know I want to do something minimalist, but I don't know what that would be. I also have to decide how I want to shade this. Though, I'm leaning towards minimalistic as well.

[WIP] Theolis - Finished Base

Well Theolis is now fully clothed and ready for battle at that. The only part I'm not too happy with are his swords, but I'm liking everything else. (And I don't dislike the swords that much.) Now I just need a monster to electrocute and some lightning for Theolis to fire, then maybe some shading and some light background. I definitely don't want to do a full background.

Oh my gosh, I am really loving how this is turning out. I haven't felt this way in ages about a drawing. I almost don't want to add anything else now, that Theo's wearing jeans (I just love the body I did, it came out so good looking). I might just have to make two versions.

[WIP] Theolis - Roughs and Outline

I'm trying to get back into the game and this is what I've been doing, well did today . . , well some of it I did today. The rest of it I did like two or three weeks ago, but all the black lines are today at least.

Update: Because I didn't want to do a whole post for some hands, feet, and part of a head, here's the final non-clothed sketch.

Obviously, I'm going to do some clothing, some swords, a lightning bolt, and a monster probably. Admittedly, that got less obvious as it went along.
